From the East
Greetings Brethren,

Another year is winding down, and soon another year will be upon us. This past month on the 10th we passed Bro. Diaz to the degree of F/C and have scheduled Dec. 14th for his M/M (if ready).

Nov. 13th Harmony Lodge performed a Masonic Service for PM Bro. Donald E. Thompson, with 12 Bros. participating.

Thanksgiving has passed for another year, and Christmas is racing toward us. Harmony Lodge has scheduled our “Holiday Social” for Dec. 9th, with a social hour from 5 to 6, with entertainment and dinner to follow.
For those of you with Special Ladies to contact monthly, have you thought about sending them a card??

In closing, my wife (Dolly) and I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Fraternally Yours,
                                                            Gerald K. Classon W.M.
A little trivia, By William R. Fischer

Why is Acacia our symbol of Immortality?

The Acacia tree was found in the area known as Palestine during ancient times, today it is found all over Africa. Acacia looks like a Mulberry tree, can grow to well over 100 ft. tall and is a hardwood. The gum from it is known as Arabic.
Acacia is a Hebrew wood is known in the scripture as “Shittah”. The Ark of the Covenant was made from it.
Acacia is part of our initiation as Master Mason and represents the immortality of the soul, as the soul lives on after our bodies have been put to rest.
Acacia will grow as a bush, tree, or grove of trees. If you cut it down it grows back, if you burn it, it grows back. If you try to dig it up and leave one root it will grow back. Acacia can live though floods, droughts, and bad soil conditions.
There is little doubt to the reason why Acacia is our symbol of immortality

SECRETARY'S NOTE:
Dues cards are in and just as a reminder due by January 1st. thank you.

Brethren, we have started a new program at Lodge that will help aid and assist our 20 Widows, the Special Ladies.
They are not always able come to our programs and sometimes we never know how they are doing. We are asking for Brothers to take the time to keep up to date with one or more of our Special Ladies, call them each month and see how they are doing, maybe visit them if they wish. This will let the Lodge know how they are doing and if they need help. If you wish to help us with this program please call Michael Parent Sr. at 267-6034 cell # 630-0241.

Thank you
